Workshop 1: CREATIVE DSLR 

This class teaches you how to use your DSLR with confidence, you will learn to shoot in manual mode as well as achieve an understanding of all the automatic modes of a camera. Learn how to use your lens's aperture and camera's shutter creatively. Learn from a pro how use your DSLR to achieve better results.


Workshop 2: THE LANGUAGE OF THE PHOTOGRAPHER 

In this interactive workshop, Focusing Options, White Balance, and theother important settings that you will use time and time again are fullyexplained. You will learn how your camera's light meter records lightand how to control the way your camera exposes a scene. Lenschoices are demonstrated and discussed.


Workshop 3: FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY
This class teaches you the basics of flash photography, what each of the important settings are and when to use them. A lot of people feel frustrated and hesitant in using a flash; this class clears things up beautifully. 

Workshop 4: COMPOSITION

An engaging Powerpoint presentation on the rules and guidelines of composition; presented using both classic and contemporary photographs. Followed by a review your photographs and a discussion.


Workshop 5: AVAILABLE LIGHT PORTRAITS

We start with a live demonstration of the lighting techniques used to create compelling outdoor portraits. Two advantages of available light portraits are that you need minimal lighting equipment and people generally feel more relaxed witout all the fuse of studio lighting. Learn where to find great natural light in both an indoor and outdoor setting. Learn about the use of reflectors to bounce light onto your subject.


Workshops 6: CREATIVE STUDIO LIGHTING 

This workshop demonstrates how to use studio lighting to create the various "styles of lighting" in photography. Each student participates in lighting and photographing still life subjects. 


Workshops 7: LANDSCAPES
This workshop is an outing to the Toronto Island to photograph the cityscape of Toronto and other interesting subject matter.


Workshop 8: CAPTURING AND DISPLAYING ACCURATE COLOUR

In this workshop I take you step by step through the workflow I use to produce accurate colour. By applying what you learn in this workshop you will save hours of fiddling and guessing about colour. This workflow applies to every aspect of creative photography from portraits to landscapes, from architecture to product photography. You will gain certainty about your ability to control colour; your confidence will soar. Bring your DSLR Camera. 


Workshop 9 - 13: ADOBE LIGHTROOM

Learn the correct workflow for downloading, organizing and developing your digital images. This powerful, user-friendly, all-in-one software has all the tools a photographer needs: folders, key words, white balance, levels, cropping, hue, saturation, black & white conversion, sharpening, resizing, and much, much, more. This course is delivered in five, three-hour classes. I will guide you through all the fundamentals. You will complete these workshops confident in your ability to organize, develop and share photo files.


Workshop 14: PRINTING PHOTOGRAPHS - THE RIGHT WAY

Printing from both Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. I demonstrate the correct settings to use to ensure an accurate print. Paper choices are presented, discussed and demonstrated. We will print 5x7, 8.5x11 and 17x22 inch lustre prints.
